It is my pleasure to show you around our website and to let you know about our extraordinary school, owned by a family of educators. Built on the intersection of Woolridge road and Charter Colony Parkway, Woolridge Montessori is grounded in an age-old framework of a robust and integrated curriculum based on child development. Montessori is a scientifically based education approach that emphasises independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development. In addition to Montessori foundations, we will incorporate latest brain research, best evidence based practices in education, and teach lifelong skills that our children need to be successful in this complex and ever changing world. Social emotional awareness is an integral part of our school vision. It is deeply embedded in the Montessori philosophy and daily functioning. Self-management, self-awareness, social-awareness, relationships skills and responsible decision making will be explicitly taught and modeled throughout the day. This will be a diverse and inclusive community of learners, educators, parents and support staff, working together, to lay the foundation for our children to become strong, thoughtful, respectful, open minded and confident citizens of the world.

My first exposure to a Montessori classroom was in Erie, Pennsylvania, when I Enrolled my son at Montessori Regional Charter School in Erie, PA. I learnt quickly that I have been applying numerous Montessori philosophies in the upbringing of my children, like teaching them independence, self-confidence, curiosity, observing, being critical thinkers and exploring with all their senses. With my children I learnt more about Montessori education and recently completed Montessori teacher certification. I have always had a way with children and as a School Psychologist by profession, I have learnt that enrichment early on is the most valuable education that we as parents can provide to our children. Maria Montessori’s quote, “Early childhood education is the key to the betterment of the society”, resonates strongly with me.
The children linking us to the future is hardly new, however, when we participate in the growth of children, a sense of wonder must take hold of us providing for us a feel of what is coming. As a parent of three amazing children, I have felt this sense of wonder everyday. I understand that every child learns differently, is unique and has individual talents. While teaching my adorable nieces I shared the same sentiment that Dr. Montessori has expressed in this statement, "Every child tells you, teach me to do it myself. When I see the two year olds eating themselves, carrying their bag themselves, wearing their shoes themselves, that puts a smile on my face. I see a responsible and fiercely independent individual in them! That tells me, the groundwork is done, now you can build on".
I look forward to laying this groundwork, by providing safe, nurturing, joyous and high quality holistic education and care. Giving your children a strong start on the path that leads them to becoming successful lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
